In order for any type of change to occur, one must be willing to think on a different level and view from a different perspective. Recognizing the construction of “race” led to individual racism leads people to a better understanding of how institutional, systemic and structural racism have worked against African Americans in this country and allowed privilege and advantage for White Americans.
